In the early 1990s, a unique group of educators came together. We were all from professional schools training young adults for careers in the arts. Charged with the “general education” component of the undergraduate curriculum at our schools, we immediately saw that we all faced similar challenges–and shared the same frustrations. And we immediately began helping one another by sharing our ideas and experiences.
CLEA is a group for exchange and mutual support. Member schools trade advice on the basis of their successes and failures. Our conferences fuel our exchanges, but the connections and informal conversation that CLEA fosters on an ongoing basis is invaluable. CLEA supports a network of colleagues.
